I read that during one of the nine times when he was interviewed he was shown a picture of a boot print they discovered next to one of the victims' body - not noticing that he was wearing the same boots during the interview.

Not that I'd like to defend the honour of Peter Sutcliffe, but there have been much, much more horrible cunts.
Those 2 kids in Ukraine, can't spell the name of the town they terrorised, but killed about 50 people in a few weeks, mostly elderly, kids and women, often turning up at funerals to take the piss. They were fucking horribly evil. Even reading the Wikipedia article will probably fuck up your view of humanity

I read a good in depth book about the whole case, Oldfield was way out of his depth but wouldn't listen to anyone. When 2 coppers went to interview Sutcliffe at his home they had suspicions that he could be the ripper, they made their superiors aware but it was lost on file or something.
